ExxonMobil, on August 13, returned the 125,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU) at its 557,000-BBL/d Baytown, Texas, refinery to normal operating levels after experiencing boiler issues the day before.

Marathon, on August 13, restarted the 60,000-BBL/d Ultracracker at its 437,000-BBL/d Galveston Bay Refinery, after the unit shut down on August 9 due to a valve leak issue.

Phillips 66 regained power at its 250,000-BBL/d refinery in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, and is beginning to start up four units, after the facility experienced a power outage on August 12. The units are expected to return to normal operations within the next 24 to 48 hours.

International
PDVSA, on August 12, restarted the 51,000-BBL/d Reformer (Platformer - PLT) at its 295,000-BBL/d Cardon Refinery in Venezuela, after the unit shut down August 7 due to mechanical issues. The Reformer is processing 30,000 BBL/d, while the 75,000-BBL/d Crude 1, 75,000-BBL/d Crude 2, and associated units, remain online. The 70,000-BBL/d Crude 3, 75,000-BBL/d Crude 4 and 77,000-BBL/d b/d FCCU are offline. Planned repairs on the FCCU are underway, and PDVSA plans to complete the mechanical portion of the turnaround by late August, with the unit back online by September 7.

Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has rescheduled a 30-day planned major maintenance turnaround of seven units at its 210,000-BBL/d Jebel Ali Refinery in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The turnaround now is scheduled to begin February 15, 2022, and expectations are to restart the units by March 16, 2022.

Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company Limited (BSR) has been operating its 148,000-BBL/d Dung Quat Refinery in Vietnam at 90%, since August 3, due to COVID-19's impact on demand. Normal operations are expected to resume at the end of the extended social distancing period, which is tentatively set for September 18.
