LyondellBasell has been picked as the technology provider for a polypropylene unit (PP) at Sibur Holding's new gas-chemical complex in Russia. The unit will utilize Spheripol technology and have a capacity of 400,000 metric tons per year.
Sibur Holding plans to build a gas-chemical complex near Svobodnyy in the Amur region, which will be able to produce 2.7 million metric tons per year of polyethylene (PE) and polyproylene (PP). The estimated investments are nearly $11 billion. The plant is scheduled to commence production in 2024.
