After a production improvement in late July and early August, Raizen Argentina was forced to shut down the 62,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Crude Distiller (CD-3) unit at its 93,000-BBL/d Buenos Aires Refinery in Dock Sud, due to a lack of feedstock and COVID-19 risk response.
The refinery's lubricant units were placed offline for the same reason, and the company is taking advantage of this unplanned downtime to perform minor maintenance on the lube area.
A restart date is unknown at this time; however, early expectations indicate that this course of action may continue throughout the month of September, or until demand improves.
