Glass producers in Belarus are investing in capacity expansions, such as the addition and rebuilding of melting furnaces. Belarus produces about 300 million glass containers per year and exports to Europe, Russia and other regions.
With the European Union aiming for a complete ban on plastic packaging, starting in 2020, glass producers in Belarus estimate they will need to boost production to 700 million glass containers per year.
