Copper Mining Industry Steps Up with New Projects, an Industrial Info Market Brief

First Quantum Minerals shipped its first copper from Panama's recently operational Cobre Panama mine. The company spent more than $5.5 billion on an open-pit mine, concentrator, 32-kilometer slurry pipeline and port terminal at Punta Rincon. In addition to this project, Industrial Info is monitoring 108 copper ore mining projects amounting to about $43 billion under construction around the world.
