India Boosts the Buffalo Meat Exports, an Industrial Info Market Brief
India is pushing the export of buffalo meat, with exports measured at 1.33 million metric tons in 2016-17 and 1.35 million metric tons in 2017-18. The government has planned to infuse $1.95 billion to fully control foot and mouth disease among the country's livestock, as China blocked imports of Indian beef (buffalo meat) for this reason. China is the second biggest importer of beef and also the third biggest importer of buffalo meat.
