The Indonesian Biodiesel Producers Association (APROBI) is testing B30 biofuel for its emissions and efficiency, when compared with fossil fuel. To date, 40,000 kilometers worth of test drives have been performed to ensure B30 does not negatively affect vehicle engines.
APROBI expects the trial to be completed by October. Widespread use of B30 could boost the consumption of crude palm oil--a major Indonesian export--to 7.8 million tons, despite a ban on imports in the European Union.
