PT Supreme Energy's construction of a geothermal power plant in Lampung, Indonesia, is facing delays related to disputes with PT PLN (Persero) over the sale of, and purchase price for, electricity. As designed, the plant would generate up to 220 megawatts (MW).
The deadline is now past for a power-purchase agreement (PPA) with PLN, and exploration for the geothermal plant has yet to begin. Supreme Energy plans to drill two minor and one major production wells.
PT Supreme Energy is requesting another extension for the PPA deadline. The project also has faced delays in land acquisition and licensing for the two-year forestry permit.
