Coogee Chemicals Pty Limited, a Western Australian company, announced a new feasibility study to construct Australia's only methanol plant and could begin operating by 2024. The $500 million methanol facility in Darwin Harbour could produce 1,000 tons per day. Previously, Coogee Chemicals had a methanol Plant in Laverton but closed it due to changes in gas prices.
