China's Output of Crude Steel Drops 0.6% in October, an Industrial Info Market Brief
In October, China's crude steel output reached 81.52 million metric tons (MMT), a drop of 0.6% year over year, while the growth in the same period of last year was 9.1%; that of steel products reached 102.64 MMT, an increase of 3.5% year over year, but the growth was 8 percentage points lower than the same period of last year. That of coke reached 38.78 MMT, an increase of 1.2%; that of ferroalloy reached 3.02 MMT, a jump of 10.9%.
As per a report of the General Customs, in October China's import of steel products reached 1.03 MMT, a drop of 7.2% over the previous month, and the export of steel products reached 4.78 MMT, a drop of 10.3% over the previous month; the import of iron ore reached 92.86 MMT, a drop of 6.6% over the previous month; and the export of coke reached 0.27 MMT, a drop of 30.8% over the previous month.
