China's Electricity Exports from Xinjiang Region Jump 32% So Far in 2020, an Industrial Info Market Brief
As of February 19, 2020, the export of electricity from China's Xinjiang Autonomous Region to other regions of China surpassed 10 trillion watt-hours (TWH), a jump of 32% year over year, according to the State Grid of China.
Xinjiang is playing a more important role in China's energy conservation and emission reduction program. So far, the installed capacity of Xinjiang reached 92.32 gigawatts (GW), including 29.82 GW of renewable solar and wind power. In 2019, Xinjiang exported totally 71.2 TWH of electricity, which was 1.4 times that of 2018.
