Corpesca SA Continues with 2020 Investment Program Despite Downturn in Chilean Fish Processing Sector, an Industrial Info Market Brief
Despite an economic downturn in the fish processing sector in Chile brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, Corpesca SA, whose production represents up to 6% of all fish meal and oil production worldwide, plans to carry out its annual investment program and invest in all three of its processing plants (Iquique, Arica and Mejillones).
An estimated $18.3 million will be spent on palletizing and packaging equipment to modernize and automate the company's finished products areas in addition to environmental upgrades to reduce odors brought about by the fish meal and oil production process. Industrial Info has reported on six capital investments and three maintenance programs at the three production sites. The investments are scheduled to kick off in early 2021.
