The COVID-19 pandemic has had a deep impact on Pampa Energia's operations at its Puerto General San Martin plant in Argentina's Santa Fe province, since it hit the country in March.
At first, Pampa Energia decided to lower production rates on its 34.17 million-pound-per-year ethylene and 85 million-pound-per-year ethylbenzene units, and then was forced to shut down its ethylene production for three weeks between May and June, in order to cope with the negative market situation.
Although Pamapa Energia has been able to resume normal production rates since mid-July, the maintenance work planned to be implemented on the units in June 2021 has been moved to the fourth quarter.
