Mercury Energy is building the 119-megawatt (MW) Turitea Phase I Windfarm and is preparing to begin construction on a second phase later this year. Upon completion, the Turitea project will become the largest windfarm in New Zealand.

Mercury has signed Vestas as a major contractor, and minor contracts will be awarded in the coming months.
