Oman, like many countries in the Middle East, is aiming to diversify its economy from oil revenues. In an effort to create jobs for Omani nationals, 110 mineral areas have been identified for development, of which 13 have been approved for international investors.
These investment opportunities are linked, among other things, to the mining of gypsum, copper, zinc, chromite, gold, cobalt, limestone and dolomite. Industrial Info is tracking 23 active mining projects in Oman, with a total investment value of nearly $2.5 billion. Click here for a list of projects, and see graph below for a breakdown by plant owner.
