Taiwan's state-owned utility, Taiwan Power Company (Taipower), has awarded General Electric a supply contract for its latest gas-turbine technology, the 7HA.03, as well as for a steam-turbine generator and a heat-recovery steam generator (HRSG) at the Taichung Power Plant in Taichung, Taiwan.

CTCI Corporation will handle the engineering, manufacturing and commissioning of the combined-cycle Block 01, which is expected to be online by 2024, and Block 02, which is expected to be online by 2025. This project is part of the Taiwan's plan to increase the energy mix ratio of gas-fired power to 50% by 2025.
