Indonesia's PT Pertamina Geothermal is seeking assistance from the government for the development of geothermal power-generation projects in the company's pipeline. PT Pertamina is planning projects in the Bengkulu, North Sulawesi, Jambi and Aceh regions, but it has been hindered by a lack of infrastructure.
The developer is requesting incentives to build access roads for proposed power plants, which would alleviate some of its burden during the geothermal exploration process. PT Pertamina hopes to begin exploration in 2021 or 2022. Daniel Purba, the developer's Senior Vice President for Corporate Strategic Growth, is coordinating with authorities on the request.
