India plans to invest more than $357 million in eight technical ammonium nitrate (TAN) projects. TAN is used as a high-nitrogen fertilizer in agriculture and as a component of explosive mixtures used in mining, quarrying and civil construction.
Most of the total investment is for grassroot and unit-addition projects. Paradip Fertilizers and Smart Technologies, which is owned by Deepak Fertilizers, are among the major investors for TAN projects. Click here for a list of related projects, and see graph below for a breakdown by owner.
