China's overall social power consumption reached 663.1 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) in March, an increase of 19.4% year over year, according to China's National Energy Administration (NEA). From January to March, China's accumulative social power consumption reached 1,921.9 billion kWh, an increase of 21.2% year over year.
In March, China's power consumption in the primary industries (agriculture, forestry, fishing, mining, and oil & gas production) reached 6.8 billion kWh, up 26.5% year over year; that of the secondary industries (manufacturing) reached 461.5 billion kWh, a jump of 21.2%; that of the tertiary industries (service) reached 101.8 billion kWh, an increase of 42.9%; and that in the households of urban and township residents reached 93.0 billion kWh, a drop of 5.3% year over year.
From January through March, accumulative power consumption in the primary industries reached 21.0 billion kWh, a jump of 26.4% year over year; that of the second industries reached 1,262.5 billion kWh, an increase of 24.1%; and that of the tertiary industries reached 333.1 billion kWh, a jump of 28.2%. Consumption in the households of urban and township residents reached 305.3 billion kWh, up 4.7% year over year.
