Shell Chemical's 1,954 million-pound-per-year OL-5 Ethylene, 1,409 million-pound-per-year GO-1S Ethylene, and related units, at its Plaquemine, Louisiana complex, remain shut down after Hurricane Ida made landfall on August 29. Shell continues to assess damages, and current expectations are to attempt a restart before the end of the month.

Chevron Phillips Chemical was forced to shut down its 1,470 million-pound-per-year Ethylene 24 Unit in Sweeny (Old Ocean), Texas, on August 14, after Hurricane Nicholas caused a loss of feed to the unit. Current expectations are to attempt a restart by this weekend.

Dow Chemical's 1,200-million-pound-per-year Hydrocarbons 2 and 425 million-pound-per-year Hydrocarbons 1 ethylene units, plus downstream polyethylene resins (PE), ethylene oxide (EO) and ethylene glycol (EG) units, in St. Charles (Taft), Louisiana, remain shut down after Hurricane Ida made landfall on August 29. Dow continues to assess damages in order to restart operations at the plant over the next few weeks.

International
INOVYN Norge AS has rescheduled a planned maintenance turnaround of the 1,492 million-pound-per-year ethylene unit at its Stathelle Rafnes Ethylene Plant in Norway. The planned 5-week maintenance has been pushed to early March 2022.

Tosoh Corporation is on schedule to perform a planned 48-day maintenance turnaround of the 1,161.83 million-pound-per-year ethylene unit, on March 4, 2022, at its Yokkaichi Chemical Complex in Japan. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit by April 20, 2022.

Fertiberia SA, on September 13, began a 40-day planned maintenance turnaround of its 216,000-metric-ton-per-year ammonia unit in Puertollano, Spain. The maintenance and repair works will be completed in mid-October.
