Formosa Plastics, on September 18, restarted the 1.8 billion-pound-per-year Olefins 2 ethylene unit at its plant in Point Comfort, Texas. The unit went offline on February 15 in preparation for Winter Storm Uri, and remained offline to complete a planned turnaround. At the same plant, the 660 million-pound-per-year Ethylene Oxide (EO)/Ethylene Glycol (EG) Unit remains offline after shutting down on September 27 due to an electrical issue caused by a power failure.
