Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Indian downstream majors Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) have formed IHB Private Limited, a joint venture (JV) to build the world's longest pipeline for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

The 2,805-kilometer, cross-country pipeline will source LPG from import terminals on India's Western coast, located at Kandla, Dahej and Pipavav, and from two refineries at Koyali and Bina. The pipeline would link directly to 22 LPG bottling plants: three in Gujarat, six in Madhya Pradesh and 13 in Uttar Pradesh. The pipeline is under construction and is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2022.
