Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Meat processor Australian Country Choice (ACC) intends to build a 65,000-standard cattle-unit feedlot on its 12,300-hecatare property, which is currently being used for backgrounding and dryland cropping aggregation, in Tungamah, near Moonie, in the Western Downs area of Queensland.

ACC's Chief Executive Anthony Lee stated that the council development approval for construction was more of a "long-term strategic play" for the company, and did not indicate that construction would start any time soon, but it has a plan to build the facility in the next five to seven years.

Industrial Info is tracking 10 projects worth US$43.8 million, and three plants with nine functional management contacts, for feedlots in Australia. Subscribers to Industrial Info's Global Market Intelligence (GMI) Food & Beverage Database can click here for a list of detailed project reports, and click here for the plant reports.
