U.S. Drillers Add Most Oil Rigs Since 2018 - U.S. energy firms last week added the most oil rigs in four years as crude oil prices held near their highest since 2014, prompting drillers to seek more profit. The oil and gas rig count rose 22 in the week ending February 11, in its biggest hike since February 2018. U.S. oil rigs rose 19 to 516, their highest since April 2020, while gas rigs rose two to 118, their highest since January 2020. (Reuters)
ExxonMobil Boosts Guyana Oil Production with New Vessel - Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) (Irving, Texas) on Friday said it is accelerating output at its Guyana offshore oil development, starting a new production vessel that will bring total capacity to more than 340,000 barrels per day (BBL/d). Production at the Liza Unity floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel is expected to reach 220,000 BBL/d later this year, ExxonMobil said. The first production unit, Liza Destiny, is pumping 120,000 BBL/d. (Reuters)

Venture Global Get Permissions to Load First Vessel at Louisiana LNG Plant - U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) company Venture Global LNG (Arlington, Virginia) received permission on Friday from federal energy regulators to load LNG on the first commissioning vessel at the company's Calcasieu Pass LNG export plant in Louisiana. A tanker, the Yiannis, arrived at the plant on Monday and will now likely be first vessel to pick up a cargo from the facility, according to data from Refinitiv.
