Oil Jumps to 13-Week High - Oil prices jumped over 2% to a 13-week high on Wednesday as U.S. demand for gasoline keeps rising despite record pump prices. Brent futures rose $3.01, or 2.5%, to settle at $123.58 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil rose $2.70, or 2.3%, to end at $122.11. (Reuters)
U.S. Crude Oil Stocks Build - U.S. crude oil inventories rose by 2 million barrels in the week ending June 3 to 416.8 million barrels. Stocks in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve fell by a record 7.3 million barrels to 519.3 million, their lowest since March 1987. U.S. gasoline stocks fell by 800,000 barrels in the week to 218.2 million barrels. Distillate stockpiles rose by 2.6 million barrels in the week to 109 million barrels. (Reuters)
