August 22, 2025--Written by Paul Wiseman for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Fulfilling the requirements of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act's (OBBBA) energy section, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) announced the scheduling of lease sales starting in December this year with a Gulf of Mexico (GOM) sale. This will be the first Gulf sale since 2023, and it will be the first one not mandated by Congress since 2021.
