Dipping Kenyan Sugar Output Results in Rising Imports

NEW DELHI--May 31, 2023--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Kenya is expecting a substantial increase in sugar imports as a consequence of a 30% drop in production caused by drought conditions. Duty-free imports of more than 180,000 tons of sugar have been manifested this year to help meet consumer demand. Measures are being taken to support the country's limping sugar industry, bringing in capital investments in greenfield projects along with expansion of the existing factories.
