EIA: Hydropower Most Prevalent Renewable in 19 States, Wind in 16
SUGAR LAND--September 12, 2018--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reports that in 2017, hydropower was the most prevalent form of renewable energy in 19 states, while wind was most prevalent in 16. For all of the U.S., hydropower was the highest renewable generation source, bringing in 7% of the nation's total power. However, as spaces to construct new hydropower projects run out and wind becomes more prevalent, wind is expected to surpass hydropower next year.
