U.S. Drillers Add Rigs
- U.S. energy firms last week added the most natural gas rigs in a week in over four years, leading to a rise in the combined oil and gas rig count for the first time in five weeks, energy services firm Baker Hughes Company (NASDAQ:BKR) (Houston, Texas) said on Friday. The oil and gas rig count rose eight to 754 in the week ending March 17. Oil rigs fell one to 589, while gas rigs rose nine to 162. (Reuters)

LNG Activities Resume at Dunkirk Terminal in France
- Disruption at Fluxys' (Brussels, Belgium) liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Dunkirk, northern France, ended on Friday morning, a company spokesperson said, with shipping data showing a tanker carrying LNG from Russia had docked at the site. Operations at the terminal had been disrupted since March 6 by strike action against the French government's planned pension changes, which President Emmanuel Macron pushed through without a parliamentary vote on Thursday, causing unrest. Entergy Requests to Add 3 Gigawatts of Solar Power in Louisiana
- Entergy Corporation (NYSE:ETR) (New Orleans, Louisiana) revealed that last week it filed a request with the Louisiana Public Service Commission to add 3 gigawatts of solar power in the state. This is on top of 225 megawatts of solar power requested earlier this month in the state by the company. (PR Newswire)
