Equinor plans to install a floating production and storage offshore (FPSO) platform to produce oil and gas in the pre-salt Santos Basin's South Carcara Field, off the southern shore of Brazil. The facility is expected to have a 220,000-barrel crude oil capacity, and 15 million standard cubic feet per day of natural gas is expected to be on-stream in 2024.
The large-scale FPSO will feature 20 wells: 12 for production, two for water injection, two for natural gas injection and four for contingency. A second FPSO for the field is being considered.
