GALWAY, IRELAND--September 18, 2013 --Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) One of the largest planned offshore windfarms in the U.K. has moved forward following its acceptance for examination by the Planning Inspectorate (PINS). The 1,200-megawatt (MW) Hornsea Project One offshore windfarm is the first in the government's Round 3 Hornsea Zone, and comprises the Heron Wind and Njord offshore windfarm projects, each with a capacity of 600 MW. It covers 407 square kilometers (km) and is located 103km off the Yorkshire coast.
