Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Gordon Food Service (Grand Rapids, Michigan) has completed the construction phase of the family-owned company's newest food distribution center, located in Imperial, Pennsylvania. Construction of the 470,000-square-foot facility began in September 2013. Industrial Info first reported on the company's plans in July of the same year.
The company will begin storing products at the facility and distributing products from there in the coming weeks. Project participants included Whiting Turner (Baltimore, Maryland), Republic Refrigeration (Monroe, North Carolina), and a host of local suppliers and contractors.
The distribution center is among 54 Food and Beverage Industry projects worth a combined $715 million in Pennsylvania.
