July 8, 2022 --Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Shortly after MidAmerican Energy Company (Des Moines, Iowa), an electric utility unit of Berkshire Hathaway Incorporated (NYSE:BRK.A) (Omaha, Nebraska), announced plans to build the largest renewable energy center in the U.S., the $3.9 billion, 2,092-megawatt Wind PRIME project, it drew the fire of environmental organizations and corporate giants Amazon.com Incorporated (NASDAQ:AMZN) (Seattle, Washington), Google parent Alphabet Incorporated (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (Mountain View, California) and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) (Redmond, Washington), three of the largest non-utility purchasers of renewable energy.
