LyondellBasell shut down the aceytls area of its La Porte, Texas, plant due to a chemical leak on July 27. Investigations are underway to determine when the area's units will be restarted. Also at the facility, the 2.6 billion-pound-per-year QE1 Ethylene Cracker remains shut down following repairs on June 26, but the unit is expected to be back online by the end of the week.
