Phillips 66 will shut down the 30,000-BBL/d FCCU 40 on April 23 for a planned 28-day turnaround at its 145,000-BBL/d Borger, Texas, refinery; this event previously was planned to start May 1. The crude units will be slightly reduced during this turnaround.
Phillips 66 shut down the 35,000-BBL/d FCCU on April 19 at its 100,000-BBL/d Ferndale, Washington, refinery. A restart date is undisclosed at this time.
Suncor will conduct a 46-day planned maintenance turnaround on May 15 at its upgrader in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This event, which previously was scoped for May 9, includes five units.
International
SK Energy Company Limited expects to continue operating its 840,000-BBL/d Ulsan Complex in South Korea at reduced rates, due to poor economics, through April 30; four units are derated by 15%. Meanwhile, the 240,000-BBL/d Crude 4, which has been shut down for a 35-day planned maintenance turnaround from March 18 to April 21, will remain offline through May 31 due to poor market conditions.
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) restarted the 70,000-BBL/d Diesel Hydrotreater Unit 1 on April 17 at its 660,000-BBL/d Jamnagar Domestic Tariff Area Refinery in India. The unit had been under a major maintenance turnaround since March 26.
PDVSA continues to run its 625,000-BBL/d Amuay, Venezuela, refinery at lower rates as only two of its five crude units are online. The 85,000-BBL/d Crude 1 and 120,000-BBL/d Crude 2 are currently processing a total of 155,000 BBL/d; the 180,000-BBL/d Crude 5 and 80,000-BBL/d FCCU continue offline. Restart is dependent on the completion of boiler repairs that are currently being performed. Separately, the 120,000-BBL/d Crude 3 and 120,000-BBL/d Crude Distillation 4 will continue offline until late 2021; repairs are not being carried out as previously expected due to a lack of spare parts.
