Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--India's refiners are planning to add more than 425,000 barrels per day (BBL/d) of fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) capacity by the end of 2029, in an effort to better convert HVGO (heavy-vacuum gas oil) into gasoline and other petroleum products.

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) (New Delhi), India's largest refiner, plans to add three FCC units, with a combined capacity of 123,000 BBL/d. By end of 2026, IOCL's Numaligarh Refinery plans to add 39,000 BBL/d, while Chennai Petroleum Corporation plans to add 50,000 BBL/d.

Nayara Energy Limited (Mumbai) and HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited are planning new 90,000-BBL/d and 58,000-BBL/d FCC units, respectively, while Mangalore Refinery plans to add a 64,000-BBL/d FCC unit by 2029.
