Other prominent manufacturing projects underway in Ohio include e-commerce giant Amazon.com Incorporated's (NASDAQ:AMZN) (Seattle, Washington) grassroot fulfillment center in Union, on the northwest edge of Greater Dayton. While the number of U.S. natural gas-fired power projects has declined over the past few years, giving way to renewable energy projects, Apex Power Group LLC (Mooresville, Indiana) is taking advantage of the abundant gas available from Ohio's Utica Shale and approaching completion of a combined-cycle power plant in Byesville, about 80 miles west of Columbus. Shaw Group's (New York, New York) Phase II construction of the Highland solar power plant in Mowrystown. Construction has been underway since the summer of 2021 but was interrupted by supply-chain issues. Phase II construction includes adding 642,000 bifacial monocrystalline modules to achieve a nameplate generating capacity of 200 MW.
