The Mosaic Company announced the temporary idling this week of its potash mine in Colonsay, Saskatchewan. Mosaic said unprecedented wet weather in the Midwest hurt spring fertilizer sales. The company's low-cost Esterhazy K3 project has produced more than 400,000 tons of potash ore during the first part of the year, which has enabled Mosaic to curb production at its higher-cost Colonsay site.
