SUGAR LAND--July 24, 2019--Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Philadelphia Energy Solutions Incorporated (PES) (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), owner and operator of the largest petroleum refining complex on the U.S. East Coast, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy July 21. This is the second time in as many years the firm sought protection under federal bankruptcy laws. But the July 21 filing also signaled PES' intention to close the facility permanently.
