PetroChina to Add CCUS to New Ethane Cracker

BEIJING--October 16, 2023--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--PetroChina Hohhot Petrochemical is advancing a 1.2 million-ton-per-year ethane-to-ethylene project with an investment of US$3.33 billion, which is currently in the early preparation stage. The main unit also includes 400,000 tons per year high-density polyethylene, 400,000 tons per year linear low-density polyethylene and 1.3 million tons per year of carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS).
