Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Meralco PowerGen Corporation (MGen) (Manila, Philippines), AboitizPower Corporation (Manila) and San Miguel Global Power Holdings Corporation (Manila) plan to acquire Linseed Field Power Corporation's liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Batangas, Philippines, completed in 2023. Along with the acquisition, San Miguel Global Power Holdings also announced plans to operate two gas-fired power plants in partnership with MGen and Aboitiz Power. The deal, valued at $3.3 billion, is expected to be finalized by September. Once operational, the facility will add more than 2,500 megawatts of generation capacity to the Philippines' power supply.
