Semiconductors Propel Idaho to $27 Billion Worth of Under-Construction Projects

May 16, 2025--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--When semiconductor fabrication plants, known as fabs, are built, they're generally very large projects. Granted up to $6.1 billion in funding from the Biden-era CHIPS and Science Act, Micron Technology Incorporated (NASDAQ:MU) (Boise, Idaho) is putting part of the funds to work in Idaho, where the company is constructing a $25 billion semiconductor fab. While the project is the largest development underway in Idaho, and indeed one of the largest investments in the state's history, Idaho's remaining $2.8 billion in projects that are under construction and being tracked by Industrial Info represent a broad range of industrial sectors, with the dairy sector playing a prominent role.
