Energy Market highlights gathered by Industrial Info and IIR Energy
LNG
Sempra Signs LNG Supply Deal with Poland's PKN ORLEN - Sempra Energy (NYSE:SRE) (San Diego, California) said on Wednesday it would supply 1 million tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from its Port Arthur LNG Phase 1 project to Poland's PKN ORLEN S.A. (Plock) for 20 years. Subscribers to Industrial Info's Global Market Intelligence (GMI) Production Project Database can click here for the related project report. (Reuters)
CRUDE OIL
U.S. Crude Oil Stocks Rise - U.S. crude oil stocks and gasoline inventories rose while distillate inventories fell in the week ending January 20, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday. Crude oil inventories rose by 533,000 barrels last week to 448.5 million barrels. U.S. gasoline stocks rose by 1.8 million barrels in the week to 232 million barrels. Distillate stockpiles fell by 500,000 barrels in the week to 115.3 million barrels. (Reuters)
NATURAL GAS
U.S. Natural Gas Drops 6% - U.S. natural gas futures dropped about 6% to a 19-month low on Wednesday on forecasts for less cold weather and lower heating demand next week than previously expected and a growing belief in the market that Freeport LNG's (Houston, Texas) liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plant in Texas will not actually restart for weeks or months. Earlier this week, Freeport said its export plant was ready to begin the process of exiting a seven-month outage, pending regulatory approval. But some analysts have stuck with their earlier estimates that it will take until February, March or even later for the plant to actually start pulling in big amounts of pipeline gas. Subscribers to Industrial Info's Production Plant Database can click here for the plant profile. Front-month gas futures for February delivery fell 19.1 cents, or 5.9%, to settle at $3.067 per million British thermal units (mmBtu), their lowest close since June 3, 2021. (Reuters)
