SE Green Energy's Hwaseong fuel cell power plant, located at a waste plastic recycling plant site in Nojin-ri, Jangan-myeon, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, began operations on June 1, according to the company. The 19.8-megawatt (MW), solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) facility is the largest of its kind in South Korea. SE Green Energy is a special-purpose corporation (SPC) jointly owned by Korea South-East Power and SK E&C, with equity investments of 23.23 billion won (US$19.4 million) (84.8%) and SK E&C 4.81 billion won (US$4 million) (15.2%), respectively.
