Gulf of Mexico oil operators forced the evacuation of more than 280 production platforms in the Gulf of Mexico as a result of Tropical Storm Barry, which made landfall as a hurricane on the Louisiana coast on Saturday, and has since been downgraded to a tropical depression. Oil production in the region fell by 72% and natural gas production dropped by 61% over the weekend. Operators began redeploying personnel on Sunday to perform the necessary inspections and restore oil production. Industrial Info's Disaster Impact Tracker continues to monitor the situation.
