Oklahoma Gas & Electric Buys Development Rights for 101-Megawatt Windfarm

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Massachusetts-based CPV Renewable Energy Company (Silver Spring, Maryland) has sold the development rights for the planned Keenan Windfarm to Oklahoma Gas & Electric Company (Oklahoma City).

The 101-megawatt (MW) windfarm will be constructed in Woodward County, Oklahoma, with 44 Siemens wind turbine/generator sets of 2.3-MW each and additional auxiliary equipment. Oklahoma Gas & Electric has renamed the windfarm "OU Spirit," since the project will be supplying power to the University of Oklahoma.

Tetra Tech EC Incorporated (Morris Plains, New Jersey), a subsidiary of Tetra Tech Incorporated (NASDAQ:TTEK) (Pasadena, California) has been selected to construct the windfarm. Construction is scheduled for kickoff in early spring 2009, with completion expected in December 2009.
