Industrial Info Resources Attends Expomina Peru 2010

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Expomina 2010, an international conference and exhibition for mining equipment, supplies, services and machinery, ended Friday, September 10. The tradeshow was held in Lima, Peru.

For the 2010 exhibition, organizers expected more than 12,000 visitors, 15 exhibiting mining companies and 400 booths for different equipment and services suppliers.

Industrial Info Resources (IIR) participated in the event and was part of the U.S. Pavilion at the exhibition. Members of the Metals & Minerals research team from Industrial Info Latin America, based in Cordoba, Argentina, attended different technical talks for the Silver International Forum and Copper International Forum, which took place at the show.

Peru, which has a population of almost 30 million people and a land area of more than 1 million square kilometers, will have mining investments of up to $5 billion in 2010, doubling 2009's figure of $2.38 billion. To date, according to the country's Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM), Peru has a portfolio of mining projects amounting to $30 billion that will be implemented over the next six years. Along with Brazil and Chile, Peru is becoming one of the most important destinations for foreign investment in South America.

Currently, IIR is tracking about 100 active projects in the Metals & Minerals Industry in Peru and almost 500 active Metals & Minerals projects throughout Latin America.
