Austin, Texas-- December 10, 2019--3M Electrical Markets Division (EMD) is excited to announce the launch of two new customer support initiatives to help align with the company's goal of putting the customer at its core.

The first is its newly launched Medium Voltage Support Site, available at 3M.com/MVSupport. This resource offers quick access to a collection of frequently asked questions, brochures, technical data sheets, written instructions and videos. There are easy-to-find links for customers to contact 3M through email, text and phone, and they can even schedule a FaceTime call. Web chat currently is in the testing phase and offered on a limited basis.

"We want to help the customer get the job done wherever they are," said Ryland Marek, segment marketing manager for 3M. "They might be in the planning phase in the office or in the middle of an install on the construction site. This is why we offer multiple avenues to find us if they have a question. We want electrical contractors, engineering consultants and everyone to know that when you purchase a 3M product, it doesn't just stop there."

The second launch is 3M Energy Academy, available at 3M.com/EnergyAcademy. This online educational site offers interactive training modules, installation videos and application demonstrations.

"We believe in the saying, 'knowledge is power,'" said Jeffrey Xu, vice president and general manager of 3M EMD. "We want to help empower the industry by not only helping educate the young future workforce on the basics of working in the electrical industry, but also the veteran electrical worker in giving them the tools to work with our latest technologies."

"Energy Academy exists because we want to arm our customers with the best electrical education possible that's available on-demand," said Haya Hasan, marketing leader for 3M Energy Academy. While there are 48 courses currently available, the number is only a sliver of what's to come.

"Just like no person is a finished product, neither is our academy," Hasan said. "We will continue to collaborate with electricians and electrical engineers to create content to help them do their job and make 3M Energy Academy a premier educational destination for the industry."

Notably, this past September, the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) awarded 3M the 2019 Industry Partner Service Award for its contributions to the electrical contracting industry. Both the Medium Voltage Support Site and Energy Academy supports 3M's commitment to the electrical construction industry.

"Ultimately our goal is to help our customers complete their projects on time and within budget," Marek said. "When we deliver our products quickly and make our products easier to install, we are helping the industry reduce labor costs and meet deadlines. We want to give the industry reliable products that perform efficiently and help reduce your total cost of ownership."

"Our customers are busy building the infrastructure for the future," Xu said. "3M is here to support them design, build and transform environments sustainably."
