In this special edition of "Industry Today," the focus will be on VSI's non-lubricated Fluoroseal plug valves. Fluoroseal produces high-quality sleeved and lined plug valves for a variety of industrial applications. Fluoroseal plug valves utilize investment cast bodies for most of their production, allowing this line of valves to achieve closer tolerances between the body and sleeve, which creates increased consistency throughout the production process.

One of the most exciting features that Fluoroseal provides is a patented sealing mechanism called EZ Seal that allows maintenance technicians to reseat the valve using only an Allen wrench. A major cause of plug-valve leakage is the side-loading of the plug during operation of the valve. Side-loading typically occurs with the use of a standard three-point adjusting system to reseal the valve. It is very difficult when the valve is in-line to turn the adjusting screws evenly. The EZ Seal system eliminates this problem by forcing equal pressure on the plug during the cam-sealing action. Take your wrench, turn the screw, and happily watch the leak go away! Another great feature of the EZ Seal is that you have a visual indication of when it's time to replace the valve--an invaluable aid for those planning turnarounds and outages.
