Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Alloy Polymers, Incorporated (Richmond, Virginia) plans to expand their 125,000 square foot Gahanna, Ohio plant (Plant 1509041) (PEC 10002930) by adding a color lab and a sixth extrusion line. The color lab, which includes a vast array of product testing and color development equipment; such as a small pilot scale line, was completed in June 2003.
Engineering is nearing completion and installation for the new extrusion line should begin by the end of this year. They plan to have the new line up and running with increased resins and dye capacity early next year.
Alloy Polymers, Incorporated manufactures resins and dyes and is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. The 200,000 square foot plant located in Richmond has recently added 15 million pounds of new capacity and a new clean room. The company has spent approximately $20 million since 2001 to expand their plant operations.
The Gahanna, Ohio plant has only been home to Alloy Polymers since 2002. They acquired the 110 million-pound plant from Basell NV (Hoofddorp, Netherlands) a leading producer of polypropylene. With the purchase of the Gahanna plant, Alloy Polymers has increased their number of extrusion lines from 13 to 18. They will have 19 once Gahanna's sixth one is complete.
